Perlawanan Persahabatan antara SARAWAK vs Malaysia - 24 Mac, 2012 (Sabtu) .

Although Sarawak’s match was marred by untoward incidents last Saturday, coach Robert Alberts insisted his boys remain as focused as ever.

Speaking to The Borneo Post yesterday during their training session at the State Stadium, Alberts does not want the last Saturday’s incident to disrupt the team’s preparations for the next match against the national team on March 24.

“I take the lost to Singapore Lions XII last week like a hangover. Like any other hangovers, we need to recover from it as quickly as possible,” informed Alberts.

Alberts also reminded his boys that they must learn a lesson from the last match and also learn to forget about it too.

“They should be taking the positives out of it as motivation to improve their performances,” he stressed.

UPDATE : SARAWAK 1 - 1 Malaysia

Commenting on his boys’ performances last week, Alberts said that his boys did a good job last week against Singapore Lions XII. It is only unfortunate that the team did not win the match.
“I am proud of my boys and they have shown strong will in search of a win, especially after trailing a goal behind Singapore Lions XII,” added Alberts.

As for the Croc’s preparations for this weekend’s match against the national team, Alberts also appealed to the fans to control their emotion and behaviour. He does not want any repeat of last Saturday’s incident.

“I hope the fans behave themselves as this is important both for the team and Sarawak,” stressed the Dutchman.

Alberts however thanked the fans for getting behind the team when the team needed them the most. Although there was havoc at the stadium grounds last week, he was relieved that nothing serious happened after that.

After Saturday’s games, Kelantan tightened their grip in the Super League with 23 points followed by Terengganu and Singapore Lions XII, both tied at 20 points. Sarawak meanwhile are 10th in the standings, 12 points behind the league leaders. BP
